WHY HIRE A PROFESSIONAL GUIDE?

By hiring a professional and fully licensed guide you are assured the finest quality tour.

In Italy and other European nations being a tour guide is a profession that requires a certain level of knowledge and requires passing a rigorous exams.  These exams prove your level of knowledge, your commitment, adaptability, temprament and ability to impart knowledge while giving the tourist an unforgettable experience.  In recent years several tour companies have added tours to the Cassino area to their agendas. Some of these tours are for the shortest duration and employ guides whose education levels fall short of those required of a professional guide. Unlicensed guides are not strictly held to the highest standards.  Ask your tour guide to show you his/her license before booking.

Being a professional and fully licensed guide is synonymous with high quality and will be to difference in your experience: entertaining, in-depth and factual or merely glossing over information.

We have a year-round agenda and 12 years experience in leading battlefield tours, You can talk with us (we speak both Italian and English)* to let us know your expectations.

Our goal is to make your experience personal and memorable.

TIME IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR US!

WHEN YOU BOOK A HALF A DAY TOUR, YOU WILL MISS A LOT.

Most of the people come to Cassino, for a day trip, by train from Rome, which is about 1 1/2 hours away. Then, from Cassino train station it takes about 30 minutes to reach the Abbey  and another  30 minutes to drive back to Cassino tonw. Half day tour is about 3 or 4 hours. Some Tour Operators, to fulfill their 4 hour limit, your time to visit the battlefields will be greatly reduced, before being herded back on your train  to Rome.

Your tour with us could take one or more days according to your timeframe and interest.

You will be met at the Cassino train station or at your hotel in Cassino.  You will have a thorough tour of the Abbey.  Then you will see some of the cemeteries for the various military groups and nationalities who are held in high esteem by the local people. Polish, New Zealand, US, French, British and so many others who helped to free Italy from the grip if the Third Reich. You will see the ruins of San Pietro Infine, the village of Sant'Angelo, the battlefield of the Rapido River, the Freedom Bell near that site.  All the way you have narrative and stories told by Danila from her vast wealth of knowledge. The next day might include  the west coast of Italy: Castelforte, Minturno, Tremensuoli, Anzio  andother sites central the fight for Italian Liberation and last but not least Rome.

IT IS NOT JUST ABOUT MONTECASSINO OR THE WAR!

Danila leads tours from the landing in Salerno to the liberation of  Rome.  Stopping at the Museo della Orme, a fascinating  6 acre museum that houses and displays memorabilia of the war in realistic tableaux with sound and fury.  Tanks, jeeps, planes and other vehicles of the Allies and Germany, along with uniforms, weapons, communications devices and so much more are displayed here.  Uniforms are displayed on mannequins that replicate the action.

Then you will see Anzio, cemeteries and war memorials that make the trip into Rome anything but boring.  And then there is ROME.  In Rome you will see many WWII related sites including Mussilini's Palace and the Ardentean Caves.  You will see the Roman Forum, the Roman Colosseum and skip-the-line access to St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. With Danila's education and knowledge, your experience will be exciting and memorable.
