The Caves of San Pietro by Susan Gayle, a book every American should read!
Dear Friends,
sometimes life unexpectedly surprises us. It happened to me this afternoon when I got a book in the mail from Texas. Frank Moster was only 26 years old when he was killed in action in the area of San Pietro Infine on 9th December 1943.
In 2015, his niece Susan contacted me and through her information I managed to get in touch with a family who had known Frank in 1943 when he was in the area of Salerno. It was a kind of miracle when I searched the name of Massimo Perna and found it on the directory book of Serre, a small hamlet in Salerno area but it was even more amazing when the person that took my call remembered Frank Moster. Massimo Perna met Frank over 70 years before when he was 10 years old. Now, after all these years the Perna and Moster Family connected again. I was so moved and proud to have given my contribution to keep the memory and spirit of Frank alive. d even 77. God Bless Frank and all the men who have given their lives in the name of Freedom!
I advise to buy and read this book. It's not only the personal story of Frank but the history of any American GI's who fought for the liberation of Italy and the world. The book is available on amazon.com even in digital copy for Kindle.
